As part of Archbishop Mitty's Business Club, we began to notice the trend that low-income and minorities commonly held lower rank roles in the business world. When we sat together to brainstorm on ways to address this issue, we decided to start the social initiative, Reinvent Tomorrow. By raising awareness towards this issue and offering the opportunity to learn more about business, we hope to bring about change and make an impact on the next generation of business leaders.
We decided to start with an Introduction to Business class. We held multiple weekly meetings throughout the month to develop the structure and curriculum.
Our first class was the Introduction to Business class and had a total of 6 students. During the four weeks, the students completed multiple simulations, presented a business pitch, and brainstormed potential business ideas. Prior to launching the class, we posted flyers on multiple platforms including Nextdoor and Facebook to gather more students.
